RIP Frank January 31, 2015
Typically I do pet portraits for other people who have lost their pets. I knew one day I would have to do one for Frankie...
He died over six months ago, and I didn't take it so well. It took me a long time to do this one, and it was very difficult. I knew that once it was done, he was truly gone.
Frank and I were BFFs for 15 years. He traveled all over California with me, went to college with me, lived in less than ideal places with me. He was a character. He was always crotchety, even as a young one. He had an ugly meow. He was a chill dude, never a crazy, running around type of guy. He was soft like a bunny and his favorite color was yellow. I found his favorite yellow, curly mouse (called Jerry Curl Mouse) in the bushes a month after his death. There is still a space in those bushes where he used to sleep.
He died of kidney failure. He got to spend his last 6 months of life chilling in the sun on the front patio. Up till then he was an indoor cat. But he wanted to go outside. I knew he was sick for about 2 years.
I really love you Frank. I hope you are having a sunny time on the Rainbow Bridge.
